NATURAL REMEDY FOR ALLERGIES

 Normal Solution for Sensitivities

The time for allergies has come - with itchy eyes/water, congestion, headaches, and more. Emily Bartha, LAc, licensed Lucucuncturist, and Chinese Medicine Practitioner, joined us to share her tips on how to get help - naturally.

The time for allergies has come! For the past few weeks, my patients have been coming in with watery eyes, congestion, headaches, sneezing, and fatigue. While prescription and over-the-counter medications can help, many come with unnecessary side effects. Also, as many people with allergies can attest, medicine alone does not completely cure the symptoms, so it is only natural remedies that can be introduced as a complementary treatment.

Anti-inflammatory foods

The first thing I notice in patients who are allergic to treatment is diet. Cutting down inflammatory foods such as milk, sugar, alcohol, and gluten can make a significant difference in your symptoms. Milk is the number one food to avoid because it increases the production of mucus and makes allergies worse. I advise my patients to make two weeks of an anti-inflammatory diet and be aware of how they feel. They often feel so much better that they stick to it, at least during a time of allergy.

Also, it sounds easy, but increasing the water intake is also very helpful. Many of us are dehydrated, and antidepressants are a song, so it is important to make an effort to keep yourself hydrated during an allergy to avoid further sins.

The rolling of the face releases the pressure of sin
Facial wrinkles have been around for thousands of years in Asia and are currently all the rage in the beauty industry to improve color. But it is also a great tool at home to relieve your nipple congestion and stress. You just wrap it up with a high motion in and out. Jadestone naturally cools against your skin. For extra pressure, keep your roller in the fridge so it is even cooler.
You can buy a face roller online and it usually works for about $ 25.

Herbal Remedies

Herbal medicine can provide a powerful relief from allergies, without the accompanying thirst or fatigue that may result from medication.
Ginger root, or Sheng Jiang as we call it Chinese medicine, has proven anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and antihistamine effects.
Since ginger is readily available and works well I advise my patients to drink water or ginger tea daily for a period of allergies. Best of all, add local honey that helps your body build local pollen tolerance.

The flower of Chrysanthemum or Ju Hua as it is called Chinese medicine is beneficial for the eyes and is amazing at eliminating itchy, red, and dry eyes.
After making Chrysanthemum tea, you can use tea bags as eye pressure. Just make the tea the way you usually do, store the tea bags, and put them in the fridge. Apply over your eyes for 5 minutes every morning for quick relief from eye discomfort.

To begin with

Acupuncture is a safe and effective way to treat allergies. A recent study conducted in Germany found that acupuncture actually beats antihistamines for allergen rhinitis by reducing symptoms and the need for medication and the growing quality of life schools.
